Reflecting
When I was waiting for Jada, I prayed that I would have a child that could handle being the daughter of a single Mom. By this I mean I have a very unstructured life and my girl would have to be flexible enough to go with the flow. Tonight, I realize how much God really did give me the girl that was perfect for me.
We have just spent 5 days at Grandma's house. Well, Grandma's house is really a nursing home. A vision would come to anyone mind that a nursing home would be a really sad and depressing place. Through Jada's eyes, it is just like coming home to Grandma's house. At the very first hint of seeing the building, she starts to yell and clap that we are there. Is it possible that anyone else could even yell and clap and be so happy when they pull in the parking lot of a nursing home? hmmmmmm Then, once we go though the entrance, everyone knows that we are "home" because they hear Jada's loud voice......HI, Hi! Hi! Grandma!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jada loves playing and getting attention from the entire nursing staff, residents and their families. She can really "ham" it up for them and it is such a joy for me to watch her with my own Mom. She is so gentle when playing with Mom and letting Mom read to her. They have had some special moments together. Jada is already serving a purpose in her very short life by just being here. She brings such great joy, laughter and unconditioner love that only a small child can offer. My only regret is that my Dad is not here to see her.
I am so blessed to have Jada in my life. I just feel like our connection of being Mother and daughter has gone to a new level. Being a Mom just keeps getting better and better! (and I didn't think it could get any better)
